Intro To Theatre of the Oppressed
This workshop offers participants an introduction to the games and theory behind Theatre of the Oppressed (TO). We explore how theatre can be used as a tool to identify, discuss, and resist oppression.
We spend time playing TO games, practicing Image Theatre, discussing different kinds of TO, and introducing Forum Theatre structure.
Time: 90 min or 3 hours
This workshop covers basic terminology, strategies, and practices of decolonization for theatre practitioners (both independent artists and those affiliated with organizations).
We spend time using theatrical methodologies to remember, reconnect with, renew, and reimagine the way our world is structured.
*We honor and acknowledge that we work and live on the ancestral lands of the Piscataway Nation.*
Time: 90 min, 3 hours, or full day retreat
